Here I am in Las Vegas during spring break of 2010.

This is me and my kitten, Bella, who lives with me here at school.

Hey! My name is Kati Germane and I am a senior at Michigan State University. My major is Elementary Education, Language Arts and Special Education, Learning Disabilities. I want to eventually get my Masters in ASD and have my own ASD classroom, hopefully teaching in a foreign country in Europe. Take a look on my wiki to learn more about me. Enjoy!

The video above is a short clip showing how technology can be used in the classroom. This is a simple clip regarding English and how different word variations can be used in sentences. Young children having difficulty with past and present verb tenses can practice through this clip.

Resume:

Here is my resume as of 10/2010. I have put it on my wiki because I think it is important for people to know where others have worked, because I believe the jobs that people have help shape the person they are today.

Internet Source:

One way that teachers can learn more about education and becoming a better teacher is to search the web for reliable sources. Through bogs, videos and audio files, teachers can learn more on their own time. This website is a blog with videos on it to help teachers become better teachers than they already are. Other teachers are helping teachers.

Poem:

The poem below is a poem that my grandpa passed onto me one evening while we were just hanging out. It's called The Cremation of Sam McGee and I think that it is an older poem. It's pretty long to read, but the ending is really good. This poem means a lot to me because my grandpa is one of my best friends and he passed away almost a year ago, so the poem is just a reminder of him.

Map:

I have inserted this map into my wiki because one of my friends lives here and from the pictures he has shown me, I would love to live here one day. It's in Germany and the city is Konstanz. Once I graduate I do not want to teach in America, instead I would rather move over to Europe and teach children over there. One of my dreams is to learn a new language and culture, and I am very interested in Germany because my grandpa was from there.

Irish Literature:

I think that students should not only learn about literature in today's world, but also literature that was written many years ago. Although sometimes this can be hard for students to learn and read, it is still important for students to read older literature. This is an essay I wrote regarding James Joyce, an Irish writer that was famous a while ago for writing poems.

This video is about how a bill becomes a law in the United States of America. It's from SchoolHouse Rock, which is a cartoon that teaches children about the government. I think that children can learn a lot from videos such as this because education is put in a visual and audio sense, allowing the children to remember the material better.

Education Blogs:

As mentioned above, I believe that teachers can learn a lot from the blogs that are available on the internet. The link below is an excellent resource for teachers, giving the top 100 blogs for education.
